SUPPORT PROGRAMS

BAA Summer Academy 2012 in Washington, D.C., May 4-13
The Bavarian American Academy coordinates and supports scholarly research in Bavaria that focuses on North American and inter-American issues. To pursue this aim, the BAA supports a host of activities. It organizes and sponsors academic events, frequently in cooperation with its members or partner institutions.
Following support is available for Bavarian scholars and students:
- Fellowship Program
for internships and research at renowned American and Canadian universities.
- Summer Academies
for doctoral students.
- Postgraduate Scholarships
for the financial support of Bavarian Ph.D. students working on dissertations on North America or related scenes; the BAA scholarships are meant to support travel expenses to the US.
- Dissertation Award
- Conferences
on North America and related issues. Financial support is usually given in addition to other foundations or sponsors. Applicants need to be BAA members.
- Individual lectures or lecture series
at Bavarian Universities or other institutions.
- Residential Fellowship
provides desk space and internet access at the Academy for scholars and students.
